Details & Program
The WASCAL Symposium aims to inform about the achievements of the project and strengthen the network of West African researchers, stakeholders and decision makers. The symposium is set up as a 2 day hybrid symposium with guests from Africa and Germany.
- The meeting venue “Maschinenhaus” at the Bürgerbräu is located in an old industrial area that as been converted into a culture and event location. It can be easily reached by public transport or car.
How to reach the venue
The meeting venue Maschinenhaus at the Bürgerbräu is easy to reach.
If you come by train:
you can take the tramway from the main train station
- number 2 (direction Zellerau)
- number 4 (direction Zellerau)
until the stop Bürgerbräu. You will then reach the venue after a short walk.
If you come by car:
you will find parking space at the Bürgerbräu (Frankfurter Str. 87)
The main symposium days will be on September 22 and 23, in addition we will organize an evening program for September 21 (as far as COVID-19 will allow for it) for a first ice breaking event, especially for WASCAL members and mentors who could not be brought together during the last year (by invitation only).
On the evening of September 22 all participants will have the chance to meet informally in the evening at a wine tasting and dinner.
Online presence: we will provide you in time with all relevant information to join online via e-mail.
The pandemic situation is still dominating our daily life and unfortunately we can only host a limited amount of participants. Therefore we set up a hybrid symposium.
For the participants joining in person:
Due to the current regulations the 3 G rules applies. Thus we kindly ask you to show your vaccination certificate or an official negative test (not older then 48 hours for a PCR Test and not older then 24 hours for a rapid test).
During the symposium, we kindly ask you to wear your mask when walking around. A medical mask is sufficient. The mask can be taken off while seated or outdoor.
